Privacy Policy

📋 Data We Collect

AkademiX accesses the following data:

• Google account information (name, email address, profile picture)
• Google Classroom data (courses, assignments, announcements)
• Materials and notes uploaded or created within the app
• AI-generated summaries saved by the user

💾 Data Storage

User data is stored in two ways:

• Locally — course schedules and preferences are stored in your browser's localStorage and IndexedDB
• Cloud — materials, notes, and AI summaries are synced to our Supabase database so they are accessible across devices
• No data is sold or shared with third parties
• No advertising or tracking scripts are used

🔑 Google OAuth

AkademiX uses Google OAuth 2.0 for authentication. The sign-in process is handled entirely through Google's secure infrastructure.

• Only @stud.tau.edu.tr institutional accounts are accepted
• Google Classroom data is used solely within the application
• Access tokens are stored in browser memory and are never sent to our servers

🤖 AI Summarization

The AI summarization feature uses the Anthropic Claude API. When you use this feature:

• The content of your uploaded document is sent to the Anthropic API for processing
• No document content is permanently stored by Anthropic beyond the duration of the request
• For Anthropic's privacy policy, visit: anthropic.com/privacy

🔒 Data Security

• All communication is encrypted via HTTPS
• Cloud data is stored securely on Supabase's infrastructure
• The application contains no analytics, tracking, or advertising code
• Access is restricted to TAÜ institutional Google accounts

🗑️ Deleting Your Data

You can delete your data at any time:

• Clear site data from your browser settings to remove all local data
• To remove cloud-stored data, contact us via GitHub
• To revoke Google access, visit myaccount.google.com/permissions and remove AkademiX
